Wednesday's traditional national signing day still matters for schools such as UTEP.
The December early signing period, which culminated with the Miners rolling out 11 players, has become the important signing day for power conference schools, but for UTEP, which will introduce between 12 and 14 players Wednesday, February is important.
"The big schools get their kids in the early signing day, but now we're coming in with money in our hands and there are some good players out there," UTEP coach Dana Dimel said.
