Several UTEP football players were honored Monday by Conference USA with postseason honors.
UTEP wide receiver Jacob Cowing and defensive end Praise Amaewhule were named Second Team All-Conference USA, while running back Deion Hankins and offensive lineman Jeremiah Byers earned spots on the league’s All-Freshman Team.
Additionally, UTEP had eight players named All-Conference USA Honorable Mention, including Hankins, OL Bobby DeHaro, OL Andrew Meyer, WR/PR Justin Garrett, DT Keenan Stewart, LB Stephen Forester, DB Justin Prince and KR Duron Lowe.
Cowing, a sophomore for the Miners, led the team in receiving in 2020 with 41 receptions for 691 yards and three touchdowns.
