UTEP football notes: Another lineman lost to injury, pass breakups record set

The UTEP football team got some more horrible news on the offensive line injury front in a 27-20 loss to NMSU on Saturday, as serious injuries continue to affect the same position.

Tackle Jerrod Brooks, who missed last week's game against Tennessee, came back and played well, but went down on the final possession of Saturday's game with the same, undisclosed injury that appeared to be a shoulder.

"It's probably season-ending," coach Dana Dimel said. "I'm not going to talk any more about that. He had an injury we thought would be season-ending, he came back and tried to play through it, he did good things, but he hurt it again.
