What the UTEP football team suspected all along became obvious over the course of a remarkable 19-3 victory over Louisiana Tech Saturday night.
The Miners are good. They are 6-1 good, bowl eligible good. They are 3-0 in Conference USA for the first tie since 2008.
And good is far too weak of an adjective to describe a defense that is positively elite.

UTEP grabbed a 14-point lead after two possessions, then handed it over to the able care of the defense.
How good was that defense? The Miners turned the ball over four times and gave up three points.
