UTEP Basketball: Miners land transfer guard Souley Boum

A quiet start to the holiday weekend exploded with UTEP basketball recruiting news as former San Francisco guard Souley Boum committed to UTEP on his official visit this weekend.

The 6’3 guard was a selected to the West Coast Conference All-Freshman Team last season at San Francisco. He played in 36 games, making 12 starts for the Dons.

A true volume scorer, he finished second on the Dons with 10.9 points per game which was 25th in the WCC. His 121 made free throws is a single-season record by a freshman at USF along with his 47 made 3-point field goals is fourth-most in a single-season by a freshman at USF, Boum scored 20 or more points seven times and scored a career-high 26 points twice,

He will have to sit out this coming season due to transfer rules, but will have three years of eligibility left.
