UTEP will officially open the journey Friday night, taking on Louisiana College at 7 p.m. in the Don Haskins Center.
The Miners were able to get a little work done in June. They had 17 practices in July and early August and played a trio of exhibition games in Costa Rica. They have been practicing again since the beginning of October. They have played two scrimmages and two exhibition games in the Haskins Center along the way.
