Things learned at UTEP football's bowl practice

Blessed with uncommonly nice December weather, the UTEP football team continues to make the most out of its bowl experience.

The first two bowl preparation practices were a chance to give freshmen and scout teamers extended playing time and the undisputed highlight Saturday, one of the highlights of the year, came when redshirt freshman Pedro Escobar, a linebacker from Montwood, intercepted a pass.

He didn't even make it 10 yards into his return before he was mobbed by the entire defense. Shortly after that the special teams players, gathered 60 yards away under the goalposts, sprinted the length of the field to join the celebration.
