Taylor provides spark for Miners

Sparkle Taylor has always been able to do the big, obvious, flashiest thing for the UTEP women's basketball team.

When she gets on a roll like she did last Sunday against UAB, whether its knocking down mid-range jumpers from the elbow or driving into the lane, the junior can make putting the ball in the basket look as easy as throwing a rock in the ocean.

"Sparkle can score in bunches," is how coach Keitha Adams puts it.

What's changed about the junior swingplayer, what's different from Taylor's freshman year and sophomore year when her first name was used as a metaphor for her spark off the bench, is what she's done on the other end.
