A year after its earliest kickoff ever in 2021, the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl is returning to its traditional noon kickoff on New Year's Eve on CBS. This will mark the 54th year the Sun Bowl has been on CBS.
UTEP also released its television schedule Thursday that includes three nationally televised games and eight streaming games (six of those on ESPN+).
For the Sun Bowl, the noon kickoff is welcome after starting last year's game at 10 a.m.
"The Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl has been played at different times over the past 88 years but the noon kickoff is traditionally the time fans know,” executive director Bernie Olivas said.
