Marshall men 86, UTEP 78 Wochit
In a season full of obstacles for the UTEP men's basketball team, the biggest ended up being the expectations it faced.
Those were hopes that ultimately were not met in a 17-15 season that touched every spot on a roller coaster track.
There was much the Miners did accomplish. Coach Rodney Terry's second UTEP team almost doubled its win total from last season's 8-21 mess, the Miners went from finishing 14th and last in Conference USA to 11th and a tournament appearance.
They got to the tournament with a four-game winning streak to close the regular season, which gave them something to show.
