Report: UTEP men's basketball coach Rodney Terry taking assistant job at Texas

Rodney Terry is on his way to Texas and UTEP is in the market for a new men's basketball coach, according to a report in 247sports.com.

Terry, who had a 37-48 record in three years leading the Miners program and this year accepted a $200,000 pay cut to $530,999 per year, is joining Chris Beard's new staff as an assistant at the University of Texas.

Earlier this season Terry had agreed to a contract extension through the 2023-24 season.

UTEP officials did not immediately react today to the report that Terry is departing.
