UTEP's football games with Texas and Texas Tech may still be on for the moment.
Big 12 presidents approved a model Monday night where each conference team plays nine conference and one non-conference home game. An official announcement came Monday night.
"The start of Conference play will be solidified in the coming weeks, with an anticipated start sometime between mid- to late-September, with the expectation that non-conference games are contested prior to beginning league games," the league said in a press release.
The fate of UTEP's Sept. 5 home game with Texas Tech, which does not fall in that time frame and now couldn't be played anywhere other than Lubbock, and the Miners' Sept.
