Report: Rodney Terry possible candidate for Texas basketball assistant coach

The next person to leave the UTEP men's basketball program could be coach Rodney Terry.

In a story saying that UTA head coach Chris Ogden was heading to Texas to join new coach Chris Beard's staff, Chip Brown of Horns247sports.com listed Terry as "possibly" on a slate of candidates for assistant coaching positions at the school, along with current Tech assistant Ulric Maligi and Kansas assistant Jerrance Howard.

Terry was an assistant at Texas under Rick Barnes from 2002-11, a span that coincided with Beard serving as top assistant at Texas Tech.

Terry, who left Texas for the head coaching job at Fresno State and then made the move to UTEP three seasons ago, is 37-48 with the Miners.
