After a great start to the season, UTEP's special teams have made a big blunder in each of the past two weeks and were generally outplayed by UTSA last week.
Getting those units turned around is a major priority this week.
"Two critical plays — the muffed punt and the blocked up — but we had so many backed-up possessions," coach Dana Dimel said. "That's not all special teams, it's a combination of offense, defense and special teams. A big return would help. We had a chance at one last week, but we missed one block. It wasn't a hard block.
