No matter how much the Miners chipped away, the Aggies didn't cave.

After suffering a 65-50 road loss to their rivals on Nov. 12, New Mexico State got a chance to hand UTEP its first loss of the season on Tuesday at the Pan American Center, and the home team made the most of it.

The Aggies held a slim 27-23 lead at halftime, and the Miners got to within at least one point on six separate occasions in the second half.

But New Mexico State never gave up the lead, and the Aggies exacted their revenge with a 59-56 victory.
