The UTEP women are going to be a good Conference USA basketball team.
No. 19 Arizona is an elite Pac-12 team, and the Miners got a good look Saturday at what that looks like in the second quarter of a 54-43 loss.
Overall, though, UTEP (7-2) had to like what it saw for three quarters as the Miners' grit and pluck was enough to match up with undefeated Arizona's size, speed and skill. UTEP even won the second half 26-21 with an inspired effort, but in a second quarter they lost 12-3 they saw where they need to improve.
