Another Haskins is blazing a trail for the UTEP basketball program.
The Miner Collective, formed last October to help Miner men's basketball players earn money through their name, image and likeness, named Steve Haskins as its executive director.
The son of legendary UTEP coach Don Haskins will be responsible for fundraising, program development and overall supervision of The Miner Collective.
"Our goal is to make UTEP’s basketball program more competitive and at least on an equal footing with other Conference USA teams,” Steve Haskins said in a release. “We would all love to see the Miners get back to the NCAA Tournament, and to do that, we need quality players who will stay with the UTEP program.
