Katia Gallegos breaks out for UTEP Wochit
A better start did not lead to a better result for the UTEP women's basketball team. The Miners fell behind Marshall in the third quarter and could not catch up in a 76-66 loss that was their fifth straight setback away from home.
The Miners were within 34-32 with 8:15 left in the third period, but a 9-2 Thundering Herd run had UTEP playing behind the rest of the game as they fell to 6-7 in Conference USA play.
