Chasing a dream isn't supposed to be easy. For UTEP forward Jon Dos Anjos, the hurdles have been everywhere.
He left his home in Curtiba, Brazil in 2015 as a ninth grader for a prep school in Florida, a dream he had harbored since watching Michael Jordan as an 8-year-old, and hasn't seen his family since COVID.
Dos Anjos began his collegiate career at Loyola Marymount in 2019-20 before two years at Florida SouthWestern College, which led him to be recruited to UTEP. Just becoming eligible to come here was a challenge and he finally earned his eligibility at the end of summer.
