Jadrian Taylor, Deion Hankins back in saddle after slow start

Back in the dog days of the UTEP football team’s 1-3 start, there were two obvious names who weren’t prominent on the stat sheet.

All-conference end Jadrian Taylor wasn’t playing poorly, but sitting at one sack through four games, he wasn’t the disruptive force he was in 2021.

Tailback Deion Hankins, meanwhile, was in a slump that stretched back more than a year, the result of a separated shoulder from 2021’s fall camp that had him struggling to regain his electric, pounding form of 2020.

Much has improved in a two week span for the Miners, who head to Louisiana Tech on Saturday in a much improved frame of mind, and those two players are indicative of that.
