UTEP's quarterback battle resolved itself in dramatic fashion as Gavin Hardison now has the job.
Freshman quarterback TJ Goodwin, who was battling Hardison for the starter spot in a competition that coach Dana Dimel said Saturday was even, wasn't at Sunday morning's practice.
No explanation was given for his absence and no date was set for his return. Coach Dana Dimel explicitly said there were no new positive COVID tests on the team.
"Not anything I can talk about right now," Dimel said.
When asked if Goodwin was going to transfer, Dimel said, "I'm not going to make any comments about that now.
