In another close home game, UTEP put together two four quarter runs to break away late in an 80-72 victory that showed how bright the future is for the Miners.
Freshman Avery Crouse had her second 21-point game in two weeks to state her case for Conference USA freshman of the week, freshman Katia Gallegos added 12 assists (one shy of the school record) and seven steals and freshman Irina Khlopkova scored 14 points.
