The UTEP men's basketball team's visit to the Conference USA title race was brief.
A Florida Atlantic team that needed a win to clinch a league championship made quick work of the Miners, using an early 17-2 run to make the last 30 minutes of a 75-49 victory perfunctory. UTEP fell to 6-12 in C-USA and 13-16 overall while FAU improved to 16-2, 24-3.

The Owls' big run turned an 8-6 lead into 25-8 and UTEP didn't get closer than nine points the rest of the way. FAU made 9-of-10 shots in the charge.
