Karon Dean is headed to the first two rounds of the NCAA Track and Field Championships in the best form of his life.
The UTEP senior sprinter (he still has one more year of eligibility thanks to the free COVID year) ran a personal best of 10.27 seconds in the 100 meters at the Conference USA meet to punch his ticket to the NCAAs regionals, which begin Thursday in Sacramento, Calif.
Dean came to UTEP before last season from Barton County Community College in Kansas, where he began his college career.
