Thassane Abrahim arrived at UTEP from her home of Manaus, Brazil, which is in the middle of the Amazon rainforest, in 2019, but it was another year before she teamed up with new arrival Veronika Lebisova from Czechia to form what has become the Miners' top doubles team.
Abrahim and Lebisova went 6-3 in the fall season and along with the rest of their team open the spring season this weekend in Tucson, Arizona.
What kind of shape are you in heading into the season?
As a senior I feel like I'm in a good place with the team, with academics.
