Playing Division I soccer was a goal for El Paso's Leslie Gutierrez.
Starting next fall she'll get that chance and will get to do so in her hometown.
UTEP recently signed Gutierrez after she spent two years playing midfielder at Heartland Community College in Illinois.
"It's a great feeling to be back home and have this opportunity," Gutierrez said. "I wanted to take my time in the recruiting process and pick the right school, then this opportunity came up."
The Miners began recruiting Gutierrez last month and got a close look at her at an ID Camp held at UTEP.
