El Paso Locomotive captain Chiro N'Toko takes long path to reach Sun City

Across the board the Locomotive are an eclectic bunch, soccer lifers from all over the world whose journeys have brought them to El Paso.

Even by these standards, the path Chiró N'Toko has taken is one less traveled.

Born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 1998, when it was still Zaire, the Locomotive captain N'Toko is now 8,230 miles from the land of his birth, on the dead opposite side of the world in terms of opportunity.

This would be easy to call an example of the American dream, though for the 31-year-old N'Toko it's more of a Belgian dream, a soccer dream, that has given him chances that would have been hard to imagine for a young child from Kinshasa, Congo.
