El Paso disc golf community comes together to fight hunger for 5th Ice Bowl

El Paso's Ice Bowl Tournament began five years ago as a way to bring together El Paso's growing disc golf community for a morning and afternoon of competitive bonding.

Through that time, it's also evolved into a significant fundraiser for El Pasoans Fighting Hunger.

The fifth edition, set for Feb. 9 at El Paso's disc golf capital, Lionel Forti Park, figures to be the biggest one yet.

"We've got a great group of guys and gals devoted to growing the sport of disc golf and also supporting a great cause," said Mike Norris, an avid disc golfer who just moved to El Paso from Omaha, Nebraska, and is looking forward to his first Ice Bowl.
