El Paso athletic Mount Rushmore voting moves into second week with field of 16

The field of candidates for El Paso's athletic Mount Rushmore has been voted down from 35 to 16, with legends such as Jerry Bailey, Bob Beaman and Ted Banks, coming up short.

The field still standing, which will be voted down to eight this week, includes likely suspects but with a name at the top that may count as a surprise. Former Del Valle soccer coach Bruce Reichman, an icon in the El Paso soccer community, surged to the lead after four days in the voting, when almost 10,000 ballots were cast.
