Chihuahuas inch closer in playoff race with series split against Las Vegas

Franchy Cordero had his bats going as he chipped in with three hits and two RBIs and the Chihuahuas beat the Las Vegas 51s 10-7 on Monday.

Leading the way for the pitchers, Dillion Overton pitched five-innings for El Paso and allowed five runs off five hits. Even though the pitchers struggled at the beginning, the batters made up for it. El Paso scored two or more runs in each of the first four innings.

Cody Decker, former Chihuahuas member and a crowd favorite, returned to the Sun City for Las Vegas and finished the series with a strong game.
