Chihuahuas’ Asuaje named PCL Rookie of the Year

As the season for the El Paso Chihuahuas winds down, the end of the season accolades will start to come in for the first place squad. And, the first one happened to be to one of the most consistent batters on the team, second baseman Carlos Asuaje, who took the 2016 Pacific Coast League Rookie of the Year. Asuaje is the second Chihuahuas player to win the award as Alex Dickerson took the award last season.

While smaller than the other players, Asuaje brings two exceptional traits to the batting diamond: agility and player insight. The award is presented to the top newcomer in the league, and Asuaje’s stellar season opened eyes with his hitting talents.
