UTEP makes the short trip up Interstate 10 to play their closest, longest-running rivalry game with New Mexico State.
The game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
New Mexico State has a three-game winning streak in a series that dates back to 1914.
The Miners are a nine-point favorite, the first time they've been favored since. With an over-under of 53, UTEP is expected to win 31-22.
The last time the Miners were favored to win a game against an FBS opponent was in the 2016 opener against New Mexico State.
