The UTEP men's basketball team was never very likely to carry its winning streak through North Texas, and indeed Conference USA's best team did what the six before it could not and beat the Miners on Monday.
What UTEP left Denton with was its momentum, its blueprint for success and its belief that special things are still in store this season.
"It was just tremendous fight," coach Joe Golding said. "We came into a hostile environment and played the league-leading team and we had some chances there. We played hard. I’m really proud of the fight.
