The big statistical chase to watch in Saturday’s Southern Miss-UTEP game is Miner linebacker A.J. Hotchkins trying to become the Conference USA tackle leader.
He enters tied with Florida International’s Sage Lewis, as both have 117. FIU’s game with Marshall where they can clinch the East Division kicks off three hours before UTEP and should be in the fourth quarter when UTEP’s game begins.
"It’s a cool deal, but we’d rather win games on the field than post stats," Hotchkins said.
