SALT LAKE CITY — Runnin’ Utes center Jakob Poeltl is on the verge of making the biggest decision of his life. Will Poeltl return to Utah for his junior season or declare for the 2016 NBA draft?
Only time will tell.
After a disappointing 82-59 loss in the second round of the NCAA Tournament against Gonzaga, Poeltl was a non-factor in the game. Poeltl netted five points and four rebounds. The physicality of forward Domantas Sabonis frustrated the Austrian center and many thought it would hurt his NBA draft stock by his underperformance against the tough Gonzaga defense.
