SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah volleyball team dropped a Pac-12 Conference match to No. 6 Stanford, falling in three sets to the Cardinal (20-25, 16-25, 21-25) Friday evening at the Huntsman Center.
The loss drops Utah to 7-11 overall and 1-6 in league play, while the Cardinal improved to 11-4 on the season and 5-2 in the Pac-12.
Stanford took a 1-0 lead after winning the first set, 25-20. Utah opened the set winning four of the first six points, but the Cardinal came right back with a 6-0 run and later used a 6-3 run to take a 19-16 lead, which sparked Utah call a timeout.
