EUGENE, Ore. – The Utah volleyball team forced the No. 22-ranked Oregon Ducks to five sets Saturday evening, but the home team came away with the win, downing the Utes 3-2 (25-23, 22-25, 20-25, 25-19, 11-15) at Matthew Knight Arena.
The Utes dropped to 7-8 overall and 1-3 in Pac-12 play with the loss, while Oregon improved to 8-5 overall and 2-2 in league play.
Utah opened the first set with a 4-1 run, but the Ducks would later come back to tie the frame 8-8 following a 5-1 run from the home team. Both teams would trade points throughout the majority of the set until sophomore Carly Trueman’s kill helped set-up a 6-2 run and Utah led 18-14.
