SALT LAKE CITY – Utah sophomore Adora Anae set a new career-high with 26 kills and matched a career-high with 25 digs, but it was not enough as the Utah Utes (7-12, 1-7) were downed in five sets (25-22, 13-25, 25-12, 19-25, 11-15) to the California Golden Bears (7-12, 1-7) Sunday afternoon at the Huntsman Center.
Anae broke her own school record for most kills in match during the rally-scoring era, collecting one more kill then the 26-kill effort that she recorded earlier this season against Lipscomb back on Aug. 29. Anae also posted 20-plus kills and 20-plus digs in the same match for a second time this season, becoming the first Ute player ever to accomplish such a feat in the same season.
