SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah women’s tennis team fell short against Denver in a tough 4-3 defeat on Friday at the Eccles Tennis Center.
The doubles point was won by Utah with Margo Pletcher and Brianna Turley beating Julia O’Loughlin and Maureen Slattery 6-3, along with Taylor Calton and Luisa Da Rosa claiming a 6-2 victory over Evy Van Genechten and Charlotte Derbyshire.
Jena Cheng finished the first singles match edging Derbyshire 6-2, 6-2.
The next victory for the Utes came through Calton who beat Van Genechten 6-2, 6-4.
