SALT LAKE CITY - Utah soccer (5-5-3, 2-2-0) dropped a difficult 1-0 decision to No. 21 Washington State (10-2-0, 3-1-0) this evening at Ute Field.
“We fought really hard and after some nerves at the beginning of the contest and after the goal, we seemed to settle down and play our game,” head coach Rich Manning said. “Everyone knows how important these games are and so I think there’s a little pressing going on. We were a little bit unlucky with some chances and some balls that could have been turned in.”
Washington State scored with the first foray from either side just eight minutes into the match.
