SEATTLE -
The Utah gymnastics team made a stunning comeback after a horrendous start to tie for second place at the 2016 Pac-12 Championship. UCLA won the title, breaking Utah’s two-year hold on the team trophy, with a 197.250. Tied for second were Utah and Oregon State at 196.925, followed by California (196.725), Stanford (196.125), Arizona (195.525), Washington (195.300) and Arizona State (191.725).
A scoring input error initially had the Utes finishing third—but a correction too late for the postseason ceremony moved the Utes into a tie with the Beavers for second place.
Utah, which remains the only team to finish in the top three at every Pac-12 Championship, came close to sweeping the individual gold medals.
