CINCINNATI — The University of Utah fell to Xavier 77-69 on Saturday in a close one on the road. The Musketeers controlled much of the game, but Utah refused to go away, even after being down by 15 points at one time in the second half.
Freshman Devon Daniels led the Utes with 19 points, while Lorenzo Bonam chipped in 18. Trevon Bluiett and J.P. Macura paced Xavier with 18 points a piece.
Here are my observations from Saturday's contest:
Xavier’s physicality too much for Utes
Coming into the game, the Utes were ranked third in the NCAA in rebounding margin, at +14.
