Utes upsets No. 1 Ole Miss in 6-5 win in 10th inning

OXFORD, Mississippi — Despite being the team’s first NCAA Regional since joining the Pac-12, Utah pulled an extra-inning upset over regional host Ole Miss with a 6-5 win Friday.

Utah forced a 10th inning after tying up the game in the sixth inning with three runs and then holding Ole Miss scoreless through the rest of the game.

The 10th inning started out with two quick ground outs by Cody Scaggari and Dallas Carroll before Kellen Marruffo singled up the middle. Pinch runner Chandler Anderson replaced Marruffo on first base and managed a steal to second base on a passed ball.
