It was a tale of two halves for the Utes, as they dropped the rivalry game to BYU for the second straight year by a score of 74-59. The Utes had a very good game plan, and executed it well in the first half. BYU is back to being a run and gun type team, that plays limited defense. The Utes were able to lock up the Cougars well in the opening half, holding them to just 37% shooting. The Utes were also able to be patient on offense and got plenty of open looks, and trailed by just four points going into the half.
