Utah's Raelon Singleton leaves program due to 'family reasons'

SALT LAKE CITY — Wide receiver Raelon Singleton has left the University of Utah football program due to “family reasons,” the university announced Thursday.

Singleton, a native of Crosby, Texas, became a much-needed asset to Utah’s receiving corps and was the program’s second-leading receiver the last two seasons.

Although it’s unclear as to exactly what the issue is, head coach Kyle Whittingham said that Singleton’s family should be the No. 1 priority.

“We are sorry to see Raelon leave, but understand that his family comes first,” Whittingham said in a statement. “We appreciate his contributions to our program over the last four years and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
