SALT LAKE CITY — The University of Utah announced that Kyle Whittingham has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the school through 2021.
While terms of the deal were not released, the extension comes just over a year after Whittingham signed a similar extension of his contract through 2020. That contract was worth over $17 million over the course of five seasons.
Whittingham is the state of Utah's highest-paid employee.
With a 104-50 record and a 2008 National Coach of the Year award under his belt, Whittingham's tenure also boasts a 10-1 bowl record and six straight wins against his alma mater, BYU.
