SALT LAKE CITY — It was a simple movement, one she had made thousands of times throughout her playing career. But for Utah center Emily Potter, that one movement — the planting of her foot going up for a breakaway layup in a Utah practice in September of 2014 — cost the young player her sophomore season.
Potter watched all of that 2014-15 season from the bench, out for the year with a torn ACL. A promising freshman campaign the season prior had Ute fans dreaming of a dynamic duo of Potter and now-departed, and fellow Canadian, Michelle Plouffe.
