Heading into last night's match, Utah was the clear underdog at Smith Fieldhouse in Provo. BYU was undefeated and ranked #9 in the country playing on their home court. On top of that, BYU had the psychological edge, having a 69-29 advantage in the all time series and winners of five straight matches. It was just a formality that BYU would win yet another match in this series, right? Utah had other ideas, as junior Adora Anae set a school record with 31 kills and the Utes upset the Cougars in five sets.
Things got off to a good start for the Utes as they took an early two set lead winning the sets 27-25 and 25-20.
