Utah softball: Hannah Flippen earns national player of the week nod

Related Topics: Pac-12 Conference, Softball

Utah junior second baseman Hannah Flippen was so dominant in the last week, Pac-12 opponents would rather see her take a base than get a crack at a pitch.

Flippen's nine walks in 17 plate appearances last week were a nod to how well she hit in her other eight appearances, notching four homers and a double on her way to being named espnW's national player of the week.

The Utes are 4-2 in Pac-12 play so far (22-11), and Flippen leads the team with a .417 batting average and a .509 on-base percentage. She's tied for third in the league with 10 home runs, and is third in total bases with 78.
