SALT LAKE CITY — In an effort to stay as one of the nation’s elite collegiate teams, Utah gymnastics has initiated a fundraising campaign to expand and upgrade its training facility, the team announced Tuesday.
“When the Dumke Gymnastics Center opened back in 1999, it was a state-of-the-art facility that helped our program break barriers in women’s sports,” Utah co-head coach Megan Marsden said in a statement. “But the world has caught up and we need help in bringing our facility in line with the other top programs in the country.”
In the nearly two decades since the Dumke Gymnastics Center was built, the program’s gymnasts have outgrown the facility, which was once considered the “finest college training facility in the country.
